Surgical pain relief: can a single drug delay need for extra meds?
NCT ID NCT04908579
Summary
This study is testing if giving the drug ketamine before and after a common weight loss surgery helps control pain better. Researchers want to see if it reduces discomfort and delays the need for additional painkillers after the operation. They are enrolling 90 adults undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy to compare ketamine against standard pain management.
