NCT ID NCT04248205

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving ketamine during hemorrhoid removal surgery can reduce pain and the need for narcotic painkillers afterward. About 100 adults with severe hemorrhoids will be randomly assigned to receive ketamine or not while under anesthesia. The main goal is to see if those who get ketamine use fewer opioid pills and report less pain during recovery.
