Can ketamine ease pain and depression while you sleep?
NCT ID NCT06317636
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests whether a single dose of ketamine, given while participants are sedated, can reduce chronic pain and depression better than a placebo. Forty adults with both conditions will be randomly assigned to receive either ketamine or saltwater during sedation. Researchers will track their symptoms over several weeks to see if the treatment works and if sedation helps keep participants unaware of which group they are in.
