Honey as a helper: new trial tests bee therapy for young glaucoma patients

NCT ID NCT07396441

First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking stingless bee (Kelulut) honey daily for three months can reduce inflammation and protect the eye nerve in people with juvenile open-angle glaucoma. Sixty participants will either take honey or not, and researchers will measure changes in blood markers, eye nerve thickness, and dry eye symptoms. The goal is to see if honey can be a safe add-on treatment to standard care.
