NCT ID NCT07396441
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether stingless bee honey (Kelulut honey) can help young people with juvenile open-angle glaucoma. Sixty participants will either take 30 grams of honey daily for three months or receive no honey. Researchers will measure changes in inflammation, eye nerve thickness, and dry eye symptoms. The goal is to see if honey can be a useful add-on to standard glaucoma treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Stingless bee honey (Kelulut honey)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, natural supplement to help manage glaucoma and dry eye in young patients.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 60 participants, and it tests honey as an add-on, not a replacement for standard treatment. Results may not apply to all patients.
