New device could shield kidneys during heart surgery

Summary
This study tests a device called JuxtaFlow that helps protect the kidneys during heart surgery. People with kidney problems who need heart surgery are at higher risk for kidney damage afterward. The device gently reduces pressure inside the kidney to help it work better during the stress of surgery. The study will compare kidney function and side effects in 124 patients who use the device versus those who do not.
