Jaw pain study: less treatment, same relief?
NCT ID NCT07423234
First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether a simple program of education, self-management, and home exercises can reduce pain and improve daily function in adults with long-lasting jaw pain (TMD) as effectively as more intensive hands-on physiotherapy. Forty adults aged 18 to 65 with jaw pain for at least 3 months will be assigned to either two education sessions with home exercises or six usual physiotherapy sessions. The goal is to see if a less intensive approach can provide similar relief.
