First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether a simple education and self-management program with home exercises can reduce pain and improve daily function in adults with long-lasting jaw pain (temporomandibular disorders) as effectively as a more intensive hands-on physiotherapy approach. Forty adults aged 18 to 65 with jaw pain for at least 3 months will be randomly assigned to either two sessions of education and home exercises or six sessions of usual physiotherapy including manual therapy. The goal is to see which approach provides better pain relief and jaw function over 16 weeks.
