Jaw pain study: less treatment, same relief?

NCT ID NCT07423234

First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether a simple program of education, self-management, and home exercises can reduce pain and improve jaw function in adults with long-lasting jaw pain (TMD) as effectively as more intensive hands-on physiotherapy. Forty adults aged 18-65 with jaw pain for at least 3 months will be randomly assigned to either two sessions of education and home exercises or six sessions of usual physiotherapy care. The goal is to see if a less intensive approach can provide similar relief.
