New drug combo shows promise against tough esophageal cancer

Summary

This study tests whether adding the experimental drug Ivonescimab to standard chemotherapy before surgery can improve outcomes for people with resectable esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. About 49 adults with stage II to IVA cancer will receive the combination, then have surgery to remove the tumor. The main goal is to see if the cancer disappears completely after treatment.
