New study to track brain bleeding in tiny preemies
NCT ID NCT07198360
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study will follow 300 premature babies born before 34 weeks and weighing under 1500 grams to see how often they develop bleeding in the brain (intraventricular hemorrhage). Researchers will look for risk factors in both mothers and babies and track short-term outcomes like death, fluid buildup in the brain, seizures, and need for surgery. The goal is to better understand this serious condition, not to test a new treatment.
