New study to track brain bleeding in tiny preemies

NCT ID NCT07198360

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will follow 300 premature babies (born before 34 weeks and weighing under 1500 grams) to see how often they develop bleeding in the brain, what factors increase the risk, and what short-term health outcomes occur. Researchers will use ultrasound scans in the first week of life to detect and grade any bleeding. The goal is to better understand this condition, not to test a new treatment.
