First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests a drug called ivabradine in people with sepsis, a life-threatening infection that often causes a dangerously fast heart rate. The goal is to see if ivabradine can safely lower heart rate and improve blood flow without weakening the heart. About 172 adults in intensive care will receive either ivabradine or a placebo, and researchers will monitor their heart function and survival for 28 days.
