First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at 200 women with eclampsia (a pregnancy condition causing seizures) to see if giving magnesium sulphate through a vein (IV) or into a muscle (IM) works better to stop seizures from coming back. Women were randomly assigned to one of the two methods and monitored for 24 hours after their last seizure or delivery. The goal was to find out which approach reduces the chance of repeat seizures.
