Summary
This study tested whether giving an IV dose of paracetamol (acetaminophen) right before surgery could help reduce the amount of morphine needed for pain afterward. It involved 40 women having a planned abdominal hysterectomy. Researchers compared the morphine use and pain scores of those who got the IV paracetamol to those who got a placebo (saltwater).
