Simple painkiller before surgery could cut need for stronger drugs

NCT ID NCT07368790

Summary

This study tested whether giving an IV dose of paracetamol (acetaminophen) right before a hysterectomy surgery could help reduce pain and lower the amount of morphine needed afterward. It involved 40 women having the surgery and compared those who got the IV paracetamol to those who got a placebo (saltwater). The main goal was to see if the paracetamol group needed fewer morphine injections in the first 24 hours after surgery.
