Timing is everything: new study tests later insemination for higher birth rates

NCT ID NCT06804538

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether doing intrauterine insemination (IUI) 42 hours after a hormone shot (hCG) leads to more live births than the usual 36-hour wait. About 692 women with infertility will be randomly assigned to one of the two timing groups. The goal is to see if a slightly later insemination helps eggs and sperm meet at the right time for better pregnancy rates.
