Acne pill may mess with your nose

NCT ID NCT07309341

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether isotretinoin, a common acne medicine, changes how well people can smell. About 54 adults with acne will take a smell test and answer nose-related questions before starting the drug and again after at least 4 weeks of treatment. The goal is to see if the dryness caused by isotretinoin harms the sense of smell. This is an observational study, not a treatment trial.
