First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested a non-invasive procedure called Ischemic Conditioning (IC) in 132 chronic stroke survivors. IC involves briefly restricting blood flow to the leg using a cuff, which may improve nerve and blood vessel function. The goal was to see if this simple treatment could help people walk faster and improve leg strength.
