New tooth-cleaning methods could speed healing of serious infections

Summary

This study looked at five different methods for cleaning infected root canals in 132 people with large tooth infections. The goal was to see which technique helps the infection heal best by reducing the size of the infection site on X-rays. The methods included manual cleaning, ultrasound, sonic vibration, and two types of laser activation.
