First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving an intravenous iron infusion three days before bariatric surgery can prevent anemia and improve quality of life in obese patients with iron deficiency. Researchers will enroll 200 participants and compare those who receive iron to those who get a placebo. The main goal is to see if iron helps maintain healthy hemoglobin levels after surgery.
