Iron shots may boost life quality in heart failure patients

NCT ID NCT05793996

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving iron through a vein (Ferinject®) can improve quality of life and physical function in people with a type of heart failure called HFpEF who also have low iron stores. About 100 hospitalized adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the iron treatment or a placebo. Researchers will measure changes in a heart failure symptom questionnaire and a 6-minute walking test to see if the iron helps.
