First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study is testing a treatment called IR-TMS, which uses magnetic pulses to target specific brain areas, to see if it can help people with Alcohol Use Disorder drink less. About 150 adults who drink heavily will receive several sessions of this treatment, along with brain scans and blood tests. The goal is to reduce cravings and alcohol use, and to find a brain-based marker that predicts relapse.
