NCT ID NCT04961528
First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether inhaling tranexamic acid or terlipressin can quickly control mild to severe coughing up blood (hemoptysis) without side effects. 315 adults with ongoing bleeding were randomly given one of the two drugs or a placebo. The goal was to see if either drug stops or reduces bleeding within the first 3 days, avoiding the need for more invasive procedures.
