First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study follows 1,500 healthy infants from birth to age 4 to learn how their first exposure to influenza—either through vaccination or natural infection—affects their immune system's response to future flu exposures. Pregnant mothers are enrolled before delivery, and their babies are monitored over time. No treatments or vaccines are tested; the goal is purely to gather knowledge that could improve future flu prevention strategies.
