Surgery brain clues: inflammation linked to Alzheimer's signs in seniors
NCT ID NCT05991830
First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at 20 older adults (over 60) having planned surgery to see if inflammation in the body is linked to brain overactivity, which may be an early sign of Alzheimer's disease. Researchers measured inflammatory markers in the blood and used EEG to monitor brain activity during anesthesia. The goal was to better understand how these factors relate, not to provide a treatment.
