New scan may spot hidden prostate cancers missed by MRI
NCT ID NCT07220720
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a special PET-CT scan (POSLUMA) to standard MRI can better detect serious prostate cancer in men with uncertain MRI results (PIRADS 2 or 3). About 30 men who have not had a biopsy before will receive both scans and then a targeted biopsy. The goal is to see if the combined approach improves accuracy and reduces unnecessary biopsies.
