New scan may spot hidden prostate cancers, spare men unneeded biopsies

NCT ID NCT07220720

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special PET-CT scan (POSLUMA) to standard MRI can better detect serious prostate cancer in men with unclear MRI results (PIRADS 2 or 3). About 30 men who haven't had a biopsy before will get the scan before their scheduled biopsy. The goal is to see if the combined approach improves accuracy and reduces unnecessary biopsies.
