New imaging techniques aim to catch hidden heart failure

NCT ID NCT06905405

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether advanced heart scans (echocardiogram and MRI) can improve diagnosis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), a condition where the heart is stiff but pumps normally. Standard tests often miss it, leaving many without proper treatment. Researchers will enroll 40 adults with symptoms but unclear diagnosis, use advanced imaging, and follow up after six months to see if starting treatment improves symptoms and quality of life.
