New imaging tools aim to catch hidden heart failure
NCT ID NCT06905405
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether advanced heart scans (echocardiogram and MRI) can improve diagnosis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), a condition where the heart is stiff but pumps normally. About 40 adults with symptoms like breathlessness but unclear standard test results will receive these scans. If HFpEF is found, they get treatment and are followed for six months to see if symptoms and scan results improve.
