This study tested whether a coaching program called practice facilitation helps primary care doctors at one VA clinic provide better care for veterans with unhealthy alcohol use. The program aimed to increase brief counseling, medications, and referrals to specialty treatment. 42 veterans and their doctors took part, and researchers measured changes in care quality over time.
