To pull or not to pull? new study tackles tough implant decision in jaw disease

NCT ID NCT07435259

First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at a jaw bone condition called MRONJ that can happen in people taking certain bone medications. When it affects a dental implant, doctors aren't sure whether to keep or remove the implant. The study will follow 50 patients to see if the amount of bone loss around the implant can help guide that decision. The goal is to find which approach leads to better healing and fewer problems.
