Summary
This study tested whether adding platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) — a concentrate made from a patient's own blood — to standard jaw surgery improves healing of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). MRONJ is a painful condition where the jawbone is exposed and fails to heal, often caused by drugs used for osteoporosis or cancer. 22 adults were randomly assigned to receive either standard surgery alone or surgery plus PRF. Researchers tracked healing and quality of life for 6 months after the procedure.
