Could dim lights help women in labor?

NCT ID NCT04521972

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether changing room light can help labor progress better. Researchers think darkness or red light may boost a natural hormone that helps contractions, while bright light might slow them. About 100 pregnant women will use a home monitor and report their lighting to see if simple light changes can reduce failed inductions and C-sections.
