Walk now or wait? new study tests early weightbearing after broken bone surgery
NCT ID NCT05595148
First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether starting to walk immediately after surgery for broken leg, pelvis, or hip bones is as safe and effective as waiting 6 to 12 weeks. About 100 adults who had surgery for these fractures will be randomly assigned to either walk right away or wait. The goal is to see if this approach is practical for a larger future study.
