New scan reveals hidden inflammation in heavy drinkers

Summary
This study uses a special PET/CT scan to look for inflammation in the brain and body of people with alcohol use disorder (AUD) compared to healthy volunteers. Up to 90 people (60 with AUD and 30 healthy) will receive one scan with an investigational tracer. The goal is to understand how inflammation relates to alcohol use, not to provide treatment.
