Light therapy fights skin cancer by lowering key immune protein

NCT ID NCT07235813

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a protein called IL-35 is involved in mycosis fungoides, a type of skin lymphoma. Researchers measured IL-35 levels in 16 patients before and after they received standard light therapy (phototherapy). They found that IL-35 levels, which were high before treatment, dropped back to normal levels after the therapy, suggesting it helps restore immune balance.
