Light therapy lowers key immune protein in skin cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07235813

Summary

This study aimed to understand if a protein called IL-35 is involved in a common skin lymphoma called mycosis fungoides. Researchers measured IL-35 levels in 16 patients before and after they received standard light therapy (phototherapy). They found that IL-35 levels were high in patients before treatment and dropped back to normal levels after therapy, suggesting it could be a useful marker to track the disease.
