New hope for tough gut tumors: first human trial launches

Summary
This study tests a new drug, IDRX-42, for people with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) that have spread or cannot be removed by surgery. The goal is to see if the drug is safe and can shrink or control these tumors. About 278 adults who have already tried the standard treatment imatinib will take part.
