New insulin strategy aims to get patients out of ICU faster
NCT ID NCT07423559
Summary
This study tested whether continuing a patient's usual long-acting insulin during hospital treatment for diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) helps them recover better. Researchers compared 100 adults with type 1 diabetes to see if this approach shortens their intensive care unit stay and prevents the dangerous condition from coming back. The goal was to find a safer, more effective way to manage this serious diabetes complication.
