New insulin strategy could shorten ICU stays for diabetes crisis
NCT ID NCT07423559
Summary
This study tested whether continuing a patient's usual long-acting insulin during treatment for diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious diabetes complication) helps them recover faster. Researchers compared 100 adults with type 1 diabetes in the ICU. They wanted to see if this approach shortens ICU time and prevents the condition from coming back.
