Glow-in-the-Dark dye could replace radioactive tracers in breast cancer surgery

Summary
This study is testing a new method using a dye called indocyanine green (ICG) and a special camera to find the first lymph node where breast cancer might spread. The goal is to see if this dye can replace the current radioactive tracer method, which requires extra hospital visits and exposes patients to radiation. About 1,760 women with breast cancer will take part across several Dutch hospitals, and their feedback will help create a standard protocol for using ICG in routine care.
