New gel shield may make prostate freezing safer for patients

Summary
This study tests whether a gel called Barrigel can safely protect the rectum during cryoablation, a treatment that freezes prostate cancer. About 20 men with localized or recurrent prostate cancer will receive the gel before the freezing procedure. The main goal is to see if the gel stays unfrozen and reduces side effects.
