IBS showdown: cut out foods or face your fears online?

NCT ID NCT06940596

First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares two online treatments for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): a low-FODMAP diet that cuts out certain carbs, and exposure-based cognitive behavioral therapy that helps change unhelpful behaviors. Researchers want to find out which treatment works best for different people and how they work. The study will enroll 235 adults in Australia and the US who have been diagnosed with IBS and are currently experiencing symptoms.
