IBS showdown: Low-FODMAP diet vs. brain training – which works best?
NCT ID NCT06940596
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026
Summary
This study compares two online treatments for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): a low-FODMAP diet program that limits certain carbohydrates, and exposure-based cognitive behavioral therapy (E-CBT) that helps change unhelpful behaviors. Researchers will track 235 adults in Australia and the US to see which approach works better for different people and how the treatments reduce symptoms. The goal is to help doctors personalize IBS care.
