Could a cancer drug stop transplant complications before they start?

NCT ID NCT06271616

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether the drug ibrutinib can prevent chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in people who have received a donor stem cell transplant. About 40 adults who are 50 to 110 days post-transplant will take ibrutinib to block certain immune cells that cause GVHD. The goal is to see if this approach reduces the chance of developing moderate or severe chronic GVHD.
