Spit test for IBD kids? study checks if saliva can replace blood draws

NCT ID NCT07470502

Summary

This study aims to see if measuring a drug (infliximab) in saliva gives similar results to measuring it in blood. It involves 15 children and teenagers (ages 3-18) who are starting this medication for Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Researchers will collect saliva and leftover blood from routine visits to compare the drug levels, but this information will not change the patients' treatment.
