Heart Drug's hidden risk: study tracks blood sugar drops in kids
NCT ID NCT07233421
Summary
This study aims to understand how often children with a rare heart condition (Long QT Syndrome) experience low blood sugar while taking a common protective medication (propranolol). Researchers will compare about 40 children with the condition to 10 healthy siblings by having them wear a continuous glucose monitor for short periods. The goal is to gather information to make the medication safer by identifying risks and potential prevention strategies.
