Heart Drug's hidden risk? study probes blood sugar drops in kids

NCT ID NCT07233421

Summary

This study aims to understand if children with a rare inherited heart condition (Long QT Syndrome) who take a common protective medication (propranolol) experience low blood sugar more often than healthy children. Researchers will compare about 40 young patients to 10 healthy siblings by having them wear a continuous glucose monitor for short periods. The goal is to gather information to make treatment safer and guide future care, such as dietary advice.
