Hypnosis before surgery eases nerves, study tests

Summary
This study is testing whether a 15-20 minute hypnosis session right before abdominal surgery can lower patients' anxiety and pain. About 48 adults having abdominal surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either hypnosis or standard psychological preparation. The main goal is to see if hypnosis reduces anxiety more than usual care.
