First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber) can improve physical fitness in healthy athletes. Fifty-nine participants, including young athletes and active middle-aged adults, had their aerobic and anaerobic fitness measured before, during, and after a series of treatments. The goal was to see if this therapy could boost exercise performance beyond normal training.
